AADJA, pronounced aa-dee-aa, was born in St. John’s, Newfoundland, and is now based in Berlin. She has spent more than a decade shaping her world in techno as a DJ, producer, and singer.

Known for her ethereal, emotive, and experimental sound, she played various acoustic instruments as a child, which eventually evolved into making electronic music. At the age of 16, adhering to her innate musical abilities, she received classical vocal training, which was deeply influential to the development of her otherworldly musical style.

She later came up in Toronto’s underground rave scene, holding a residency at FORMAT and playing all-night sets in packed DIY spaces. After winning the hearts of electronic music lovers in Toronto, she went on to headline spaces across the Americas, Europe, and beyond.

From touring with Richie Hawtin’s From Our Minds in 2023 to making an appearance at Ellen Allien’s We Are Not Alone showcase in Berlin, she has also performed at iconic venues such as Tresor Berlin, Printworks London, Amnesia Ibiza, and Lofi Amsterdam.

With a memorable debut release, Thought Dealer, in 2018 and a new chapter unfolding in Berlin’s rich electronic music scene, AADJA continues to make a great impression as one of North America’s most cherished techno artists.
